• Our Local Heritage

Founded in Liverpool over 30 years ago, Stack Group is a company with strong roots. We believe that our community is fundamental to our growth, as it gives us a great place to live, work and do business. At Stack, we value our strong commitment to community which is why we actively support a range of initiatives in the fields of education, culture, sport and local business. Take a look at some of the ways we support our local community, which are listed below:
The Stack Award for Student Development in Partnership with the University of Liverpool -Education

In 2012, our Group Chairman, Jeff Orr, established The Stack Award for Personal Development. The award, which is run in partnership with the University Of Liverpool, recognises the enjoyable time that Jeff spent there himself.

The annual prize is awarded to the two Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering students who have shown the most improvement throughout their three years of study.

In 2015 the award was presented to Ben Thwaites and India Phillips in recognition of their improved academic standards and for making a valuable contribution to student life.
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra - Culture

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra is the oldest surviving professional symphony orchestra in the UK. The origins of the Orchestra date back to 1840, when the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society was formed by a group of Liverpudlian music lovers. Since then, the Philharmonic has remained at the heart of the city’s cultural life.

As a Corporate Member, Stack Group actively contribute to the work of the orchestra. By investing in this organisation we hope to support their effort to build upon current success, as well as helping to protect the Royal Philharmonic for the future. We also love to support the orchestra by attending performances, which is why each year our Chairman, Jeff Orr, invites customers, clients and associates to join him at “The Spirit of Christmas” for an evening of festive music.

At Stack Group we take great pride in our support of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and we feel that this partnership demonstrates our commitment to the cultural landscape of Liverpool and the UK.
3AAA Apprenticeship Training - Local Business and The Economy

3AAA is an outstanding training provider of Apprenticeships in England, who specialise in training the next generation workforce.

At Stack Group, our Apprentices are an important part of our business, and we work with 3AAA to offer young people the opportunity to learn a trade whilst gaining valuable work experience. With the current rate of youth unemployment being extremely high - particularly in the North West - it is important to Stack to invest in the training of young people who are from the local area. Research from the National Audit Office also demonstrates that as well as benefiting individuals and businesses, apprenticeship schemes also contribute to the wider economy, with every £1 spent on apprentice training paying an overall £18 back in to the local economy.

This year Stack have taken on six new apprentices, each with their own area of specialisation.

Andrew McHugh is based in our Marketing Department, Joshua Hampson is focussing on IT and Customer Support, Michael Silcock is working on Telecoms and Alex Burns is in our Networking Team.

Company Chairman, Jeff Orr states “Our apprentices are provided with a foundation that will give them an excellent platform for the future. They will learn fundamental principles and skills in their specialism through a blend of academic and practical exercises. If any SME reading this is considering an apprentice for their own business I would say based on our experience ‘do it’.”
Merseyrail Bootle Ladies Football Club - Sport

After its establishment in 2013, Merseyrail Bootle Ladies Football Club made its debut in the Women’s FA cup in September 2014, and have since gone on to win the FA Women’s “Love Football, Play Football” award.

Our support for the team came about through our customer partnership with Merseyrail, who were instrumental in the establishment of the team as part of their community engagement programme.

The objective of the club is to provide a safe, positive and friendly environment for ladies and girls to play football and arrange social activities. As a key sponsor, Stack Group provide the first team with their match day kit for all home games.
